I was out [say I had some personal issues....] but I'm back and hungrier than ev
er to dish out mad pieces of what usually makes up my minds occupation! Its out with the dreads and in with a quest for a higher degree in the academic circles...... And also a couple of Government paid jobs to match. You can say I've been re-branded.... Silly.Okay, a whole lot happened. We lost Grin, Eedris Abdulkareem is making a come-back, Kelly and Incredible have been most creatively naughty and bla... and bla... and more bla.......
I'll do a Grin write-up when I'm done grieving. He was a friend and a source of inspiring comfort.... but that I will save for another day......
THE FUTURE IS tEchFRO....
Today, I'd rather talk about the future of Popular Nigerian Music. What seemed to be an idle trend started by undergraduate, gospel oriented artistes, seemed to graduate in form to alternative rock, hooked up with more synths and flashy choruses, picked up speed and headed in the direction I've simply dubbed....... "Techfro".
I'm still exploring and studying and observing...... a lot of Nigerian producers seem to be experimenting on one level or the other within and around this genre but I seem to have settled on one..... Ever heard of the name DJ Klem.....? A lo
t of responses might get a "thought so too" from me.Well, first of all, Clement “DJ KLEM” Kponu is a Producer and as well as a recording artiste.... and the dude is "practically" unbelievable..... remember the sounds from Knighthouse? Go ask [Mo'Cheddah and co.....], go ask The RoofTee Mc's or the Latin-Speaking-Beat-U-Over-The-Head-With-An-Iron-Pipe-Modo-Naino....
I just listened to his mix-tape recently and I'll take a healthy bet, this might just be that "silent" turning point in Popular Nigerian Music Genre.
Yeah, I said it.... go ahead and bite me but you'll see.
Listen to it and make up your minds. "DJ KLEM PRESENTS: SIX8TEN http://"www.sendspace.com/file/dj2ity"
"............... I can'T SEEm TO get EnuF"
Kelly Hansome..... Kelly Hansome, Mr. Maga.... of criminal records [or is it Kennis Music], did he get bored stiff with Mo'Hits and Wande "stripper" Coal or did Mr. Incredible just happen to have bitten off a whole lot more than he could chew?

All in all, I have listened to some of the finer beef tracks this year cos of these two..... yeah.... I know this might just about be as selfish as it gets.... But between "nobody test me ["Choko" Bois' Style] and Chocolate City [Kriminal or is it Kennis Music Style]... o men....I'll keep you really posted!
