This year surely leaves no one in doubt with its desire to come to a speedy end. To say it has been one ride is most definitely the understatement of the year!
Speaking of understatements; some peeps still found time to make statements come outta under! Home bred Kelly and his "Criminal Gang" did it big time, controversy stylee. The heat though seems to have been taken straight outta the kitchen but the embers still a
maze me. What really happened back there? No doubt, Mo' Hits largely remained quiet [much to my disgust....] but who would have predicted the sudden turn of events; what with Kelly practically pleading through every available media channel online for a stay of execution of sorts! The song "Igwe, Kom-Kom], lovely song... at least most of the peeps around me seemed to think so! Bit of humour [twisted as it seemed sometimes], educative [now you know; fender to bumper].... Nice song. The same beat as the Maga theme music that came before it.....
Was the salvo necessary? I don't know! and i really don't care. Artistes have always been known to have hugely larger than life egos..... and this is what happens when you let urs run wild and free...... I think some call it creativity. Seriously though, I've always known Kelly to be prone to bursts of sorts and with strictly loyal follower ship surrounding him, its no surprise to have him take up mischief at that level.
Its no longer news... "PROMO JAMO" is a done deal..... Baring the unforeseen, this eclectic
blend of urban street-hop is making the rounds in the dense airwaves of PHCity and coming to a radio station near you soon..... Arguably the most interesting project I've worked on in the last 3 months... PROMO JAMO should bridge the yarning gap in the music circle which seems bereft of original talent!! Basically a mix cd from the stables of REFLEX SOUNDS....PROMO JAMO has in its arsenal, 15 individually talented recording artistes, 6 incredibly crazy Music Producers and iced with... you guessed right... the SARGEMIX...
Interestingly.... for the first time ever.. after 8 years in the studio... I get to record my first single.... Tell me what you think...... http://www.myspace.com/soundwox
The sky most surely is the limit for Femi Braker's Sophomore effort... "JESUS PARTY [J.P.]" A Gospel Album with an Urban feel..... while the up tempo tracks of "Pateworee", "E e Jesu Dey" and "King David" will leave you looking for your feet, the more traditional "Jesu Ose Baba" while surely strike a sobering chord. For the outright abstract buffs... try "Emimimo" and "Loni O"..... if you are not impressed, I'll eat my words publicly!! Suffice to say, this album has been the one album where I've had the most creative freedom ever.... Maybe, one of these days, I night just return to commercial music production.... mmmh!
